Popular Yoruba actress, Omotunde Ogundimu has been ill for about 5 years now.
96a2614b5e501230128db7639ab50192_L
The ailing Ogun state based actress whose husband died 3 years ago has recounted her ordeal in a new interview with PlaygroundTv. The actress who was rumored to have been hit by HIV/AIDS however said the ailment that slowed her down for the past 5 years was Fibroid and not any thing else. The mother of 3 explained how she needed money to undergo the surgery and lots more.
Read excerpts from the interview below:
What is happening to you in recent time?
I thank God for my life because good things are happening to me now. I want to believe that you heard about the challenges i faced last year and i give glory to God Almighty because i am healthy today and bouncing.
What really happened, people insinuated that it could be Hiv virus?
God forbid, i dont have HIV virus. Actually, the whole story began before the death of my husband of which i was thinking it was another thing because i noticed that anytime we made love, blood rushed out from my private part and i was thinking it was something else. But later after his death, precisely early last year, the sickness resurfaced and i began to do my menstruation thrice a month which was obviously abnormal.
I went for medical check-up and my doctor immediately diagnosed me with fibroid, and he advised me to operate it immediately which i concurred but i had no money for the surgery. He also asked if i will still want to give birth again but i wasn’t sure about the answer but i am blessed with 3 lovely kids. I wasn’t upright financially and i was forcing myself to work so as to get money for the operation but it was rather unfortunate that my job couldn’t pay the bill.
So a friend of mine who is a journalist visited me and he was the one who said we should beg people for help. I was afraid not to be insulted by people and he insisted. So we did it and to God be the Glory, people saved my life.
Medically how was the operation experience?
I give that to God and also my doctor. Why a lot of people die during fibroid surgery is when they don’t consult a good doctor, you may kick the bucket from there. My doctor is a fibroid specialist, he performed six surgeries after mine that day. I left the hospital 8 days after but it took me 2 months to recuperate.
Are you very agile now?
I noticed that my weight had dropped and i like it like this. Unlike the way i looked before like puff puff. I am still agile but reduced in stature. I know i need to rest but i need to run around for my children. May 21st made it 3 years my husband died. Life has been very tough without him but i give the glory to God. I have been able to solely pay their school fees, taking good care of them and they are obedient children. The oldest among my kids just finished secondary school and now preparing for the University.
Considering the fact that acting is not paying, where do you get money to fund the kids?
Where i get money isn’t something to divulge on media. A lot of people have asked me that question and i didn’t answer them. After my husband’s death, i inherited duo bedrooms flat in Aboru area of Iyana Ipaja lagos state.
Instead of living in the house, i rented it out and moved to my village in Ibafo,Ogun state so that i can be spending the house rent on my kids. I also have people abroad who send goods to me to resell. My husband was a polygamist and i was number 2 with 3 other wives behind me.

The Nollywood actor, Osita Iheme spoke about why he wants to be influential and his interest in politics.
Read excerpts below: –
On his level of fame
I have always been a very optimistic person. I may not have seen how far I could go but I knew something great was coming. I can’t really tell you this is how far or this is how I knew it was going to be, but like I said, I had always believed that something great was around the corner.
On facing set-backs because of his height
No! No!! No!!! I have always seen myself as a leader especially when I am around my age mates. I have always put up a bold front because I am a bold person. I have been able to conquer and overcome the challenges that are around me irrespective of my nature and other things about my physical stature. I have been able to set aside anything that could bother me and moved on. I didn’t allow anything to really bother me while I was growing up.
On the Nigerian movie industry
We are moving forward. Where we are now is not where we were years ago. At the moment I can emphatically tell you that we are making good progress. Our technical expertise has improved as well as our acting. We have been involved in a lot of activities which include seminars and capacity building for film actors and new actors. The rate of production of new movies is still high. Now more movies are premiering at the cinemas. The Nigerian entertainment industry is indeed a million dollar industry. It has also become a rewarding venture for all the stakeholders.
On Nollywood rebranding Nigeria
Nollywood is a great brand ambassador of Nigeria. Nollywood has really showcased Nigeria’s positive influence in the African continent. Through Nollywood you can see not only Nigeria but the entire African culture. So far, Nigeria has benefitted in a lot of ways from Nollywood because a lot of people have been gainfully employed through it both home and abroad. A lot of people are also being sustained through Nollywood: the marketers, the actors, make-up artistes and many others.
On Nollywood stars in Politics
Definitely Yes! I am nursing a political ambition. I am hereby using this medium to let my colleagues know that we are the voice of the masses. People believe in us and it is high time we joined politics and start contributing and making changes. We can no longer keep watching from the sidelines. We have to be involved in the politics of this nation so that we can better the lot of the populace. We need to prove that we can change things. You cannot be a change agent if you are not involved in what is going on. So I support my colleagues; I support any entertainer who ventures into politics. I don’t think there is anything bad in it. It is a welcome development for us in the entertainment industry. I am also positive that my dream will come true someday.
On his legacy
I would like to inspire people. I want people to take a cue from me and not give up on themselves. I want to see myself as someone people will walk up to and say “you made me do this, I did this because you did it”. I want to be a role model and a mentor.

Daniel Ademinokan Expresses His Undying Love For Stella Damasus In Radio Interview

stella
The Nollywood pair of Daniel Ademinokan and Stella Damasus, have continuously flaunted their love on social media.
The filmmaker who is in a relationship with Stella Damasus which some people call ‘controversial’, is definitely love-struck.
In a radio interview Ademinokan expressed his love for Stella Damasus: –
I am so excited to dedicate this song to one person who has been a rock. Sometimes God just aligns things to happen at the right time. Stella Damasus – you are an amazing person and I appreciate you so much. The kind of mind you have, the way you think. It’s different and I’ll probably never meet anyone like you. People don’t know the truth about how we got together. I appreciate you so much and you are a very blessed person” expressed Ademinokan.
He didn’t stop there. “There is something special about you. I have always said to you that the enemy will not attack you if you aren’t special. You have been a source of encouragement to me. You have changed a lot of things in my life. The way we came together is even a mystery to us. The world may know a lot of crazy things about you but I know who you really are” he said, “thank you for loving me for who I am. We cannot show the whole world everything but you and I have conquered so much in a short time.I would not have been able to achieve a lot of the thing I have if I wasn’t with the right person. You are an actress, singer, writer, teacher, philanthropist, is there anything you can’t do? I love you very much and I’m dedicating this song to you because I want you to stay with me forever.
Daniel Ademinokan also says he is blessed to have Stella Damasus’ two kids in his life.

The ‘Empire’ series that got the whole world buzzing had a little controversy to go with it.
The director, Lee Daniels has opened up on how he’s been the target of death threats because he ‘seems’ to promote homosexuality in his film.
The famous film maker recently spoke at the 7th annual Produced By conference in Los Angeles where he opened up about some of the intense push-back he’s received due to the show and story lines tackling homosexuality and homophobia.
Daniels admitted that Empire‘s depiction of a gay African-American man in the world of hip-hop generated intense hatred among some viewers.
“Homophobia is real. It exists. Jussie [Smollett] and I both get death threats,” Daniels said. However he says he is resolute in his decision to tackle social issues on the hit show., “We will continue to do our thing.”
On Empire, Smollett plays Jamal Lyon, son of hip-hop mogul Lucious Lyon (Terrance Howard), who has an adversarial relationship with his father because Jamal is gay.
The show’s highly anticipated 18-episode second season premieres Sept. 23 on Fox after it’s first wrapped up in March.

yvonne
She was the hot girl in Tuface’s ‘African Queen’ video.
In a new chat with the Vanguard, the busty Nollywood actress, Yvonne Jegede spoke about her relationship with Tuface Idibia, Yvonne Nelson and more.
Read excerpts from the interview below: –
Is it true that you dated 2face?
I didn’t date 2face. I only featured in his “African Queen” video. I have never kissed him before.
What can you not do without as a very pretty girl?
My eye pack because I love my eyes. I always like to make my lips look good. For the accessories, I can not do without my golden wrist watch. I wear it anywhere I go every day because it gives me good luck. I like big things and that’s why I have to get a big wrist watch.
What does love mean to you?
I am a lover of love. I love to love. I love to be emotional.Love is something that I appreciate a lot. Trust me, I am a good lover. I love my fans, my folks, I love the people that matters to me. I love to have people around me.
What is an ideal man to you?
I don’t even know what it is any more. But I think people at different ages have different perspection in respect of what an ideal man is. He should be more intelligent than myself. I need somebody I can learn from him. He should also be able to take care of himself. That’s an ideal man for me. He should not be ugly.
Which part of you body do you think is your selling point?
I think it is my brain. Talking about the physical things that attracts men to me, it depends. Some people say, it’s my eyes, others prefer my lips and my b**bs. So, I do not know. When I love into the mirror, I love everything about myself.
How was your growing up like?
While growing up, I wanted to be a beauty queen. I just like getting attention. I was the first child. For the first five years of my life, I have the whole attention in the world. I am so used to people coming around me. As a child, I got everything I needed.
Tell us about your evolution into Nollywood?
As a child, I never dreamed of going into acting. I loved modeling, and how paparazzis run after models. I never had acting in mind until I met Charles Novia. When I saw him somewhere in Surulere, I was like; is this Charles Novia! And he turned around and looked at me and said, do I know you? I replied him, saying I saw you on the television yesterday . He quickly asked me if I wanted to become an actress? I replied in the affirmative. He later gave me his call card and invited me for an audition the following day. That was it. While I was still working on the set with Charles Novia, Uzodimma saw me and insisted taht he would feature me in his music video. The next day, I featured in the African queen video. That was how I started my acting career.
Who are the actresses you look up to?
I love Genevieve Nnaji. I am also a fan of Omoni Oboli, and many others. Recently you featured in the music video of Sound Sutan. Do you have passion for dancing? Sound Sultan is a big brother. He called me and said, I am shooting my music video. Can you come around and give me your support. When I got there, I ended up featuring in the video. This is the third time, I would be featuring in a music video. I featured in African Queen video, Ego and now, Sound Sutan’s video. Does that mean you are a dancer? I am not a dancer. I am not a video vixien. I can go and sit down and have a class cup and champagne. That is different from dancing. I am not a dancer.
What will you say fame has robbed you of?
The good and the bad. Good, in the sense that I can walk into anywhere and get favour ,especially in the banking hall. Sometimes, I would be standing in the quene and somebody would walk up to me and asked me how much do you want? And the person would help me to make it faster. But the ugly thing is that, you will not live your life the way you would want to.
You attacked Ghanaian actress, Yvonne Nelson on your twitter handle last year. What triggered off the attack?
I am not going to comment on it. Everybody took side with Yvonne Nelson, including my friends. So, I am not going to say anything about it. The whole world was against me. I read the negative reactions of Nigerians online. I was not expecting anything less. Even my own friends who never had any encounter with Yvonne Nelson took side with her.
You have a penchant for revealing some part of your body, may be your b**bs. What happened today?
Well, it depends on the clothes. I have big b**bs, so, if the clothes are not big enough to cover my b**bs you would not blame me for that. I am not the person who made my clothes . I just put the clothes on. You have passion for revealing some part of your body? It depends on my mood. If I want to expose my back, I will do that. It goes with my mood.

I Can Still Demand For S*x From Saidi Balogun – Actress Fathia

fatia

What is your relationship now with Saidi Balogun?
Saidi Balogun is my kids father. He is my friend and my mentor. He thought me so much. He is going to remain my best friend.
You still bear his name, what will you say about it?
Do you want me to drop the name?
No I am just asking, why don’t you want to drop the name?
Why will I drop the name? I have two beautiful kids, Khalid Balogun and Aliyah Balogun, so tell me why I am going to drop Balogun.
The father of your children had an accident, what actually led to the break up?
Hmm… I want to say something today, I don’t really want to talk about my relationship with my children’s father. It is a thing of the past and I don’t really want to talk about it. Saidi and I are best friends, and it is going to be like that. Fine, he had an accident, and I was there all through, we were together. Let it just be like a natural and normal thing. We are friends and that is just it.
Have you been married before?
Yes
Were you ever divorced, what happened between you and Saidi Balogun?
Nothing happened between us, nothing.
Assuming you are in the American Embassy and you are being asked, are you still married?
Yes we are married
You personally?
Yes we are still married. I am in the embassy abi?
Is Fathia Balogun still married?
Yes I am married
To who?
To Saidi Balogun
There is a story we gathered that Saidi Balogun is married. What would you say about it?
I don’t think so.
Have you gotten that news?
No. I think I am hearing it for the first time here.
You have not read it in the papers?
No
That he found a new love?
No
What if he now decides to get married?
Saidi is a Muslim, yeah. Even on our engagement day, it was said that ‘Mee ni Olorun wi, Saidi can marry 4 wives, 3, 20. Iya le ni mi (I am his first wife). They can come in it, doesn’t matter now.
Iya Kalid, Are you saying that you can walk up to him and say, ‘it is my turn to sleep in your house’

Of course, why not? If it is my turn, it is my turn. If Saidi is married up to 1-10, won ma pin ojo ni. So, when it is my turn on Friday, no one would argue with me that Friday is not my day. Don’t you get, nobody will argue about that.

Not long ago, the actress, alongside Odunlade Adekola beat their fellow actors to win the Best Actor and Actress awards of the Yoruba Movie Academy Awards (YMAA) held at the Civic Centre, Ibadan, Oyo State.

Angela Okorie – “Death Rumor Helped My Career”

okorie
Famous and pretty Nollywood star, Angela Okorie revealed in a new interview how her death rumor boasted her career.
Read excerpts from the interview below: –
On if she have forgiven those behind her death rumor that went viral on social media, Angela said: –
“Yes I have. The thing is that sponsors of such do not realise that such evil campaigns usually turn out a publicity campaign for their victims. I was actually working on set when they started that rumour and suddenly my phone line became inundated with calls. A lot of people were crying and raising concern. And I told them that I was alive and kicking. That death-rumour incident made me to realise how much people loved me. It even made me more popular. The evil peddlers had only added many more years to my life. So, I don’t care about what people say about me.”
On why people put her in controversial stories, the actress said: –
“I wish I knew the reason. All I know is that you don’t have to do any wrong to be hated; everybody must not like you. The truth about life is that if people don’t hate or criticise you, it shows that you are not important. You must be important for people to hate you and try to run you down. But the more people hate you, the more you will progress if you are nice. And for me, I don’t give a hoot about my haters as long as what I am doing is right; I don’t lose sleep over haters.”
On the craziest thing a fan did to her, Angela replied saying: –
It was when I travelled to the US and this fan suddenly walked up to me and kissed me. I was screaming but he just laughed it off and walked away. He was like, ‘now that I have kissed you, what can you do about it?”

Tonto Dikeh – “Growing Up Wasn’t Easy For Me”

Tonto-Dikeh
Tonto Dikeh never gets tired of telling us her life story, but I bet must of us are tired of hearing it.
The actress and singer, has revealed how she had to struggle as an independent lady to get through life.
Taking to her Instagram account recently, the singer c*m actress reeled out her grass to grace story while thanking her stepmother and her doggedness as well as God for her success in life.
Growing up life was not easy, not after I lost my mom at the age of three. Though I thank my step mom for keeping up with my rudeness and stubbornness. Sometimes, I felt like killing myself but God saw me through that stage in my life and sometimes I sit and ask God why me?” she began.
Writing further, ‘At the age of twenty, I said to myself `I wouldn’t ask my dad for money- I wanted to be independent. I tried traveling to UK but I got refused at Nigerian Embassy, not because my documents were not complete but because I didn’t have the connection to pass through.
‘University life was so hard for me, handouts I could not afford, I begged from hand to mouth just to eat! Sometimes, I considered going back to my dad but ego and pride wouldn’t let me. Then, all my jeans were Alaba bend-down-select. If the jeans was longer than me I would cut it to my size to make it look rugged! If I asked friends for a favour, before they helped they would ask me to do something for them in return, like cleaning their rooms, or helping  with course work,’ she concluded.

No Man Can Handle Me Apart From My Husband – Omotola

Omotola Jalade Ekehinde has opened up on her decision to get married at the early age of 18. When asked by Vanguard if she would have gotten married to another man later ,had she not married her hubby early, she said
fc791a1fcbfa5eef307d6475217f7542_L
I don’t think so, because I don’t think there is any man that can handle me apart from my husband. Not because I am a bad person, it is because I am a very strong personality. I can understand why a lot of female artistes find it very difficult to find the right person.
When you achieve some kind of success, you become really confused as to who really loves you for who you are. It’s not really easy, it is very hard finding those people who really love you. If you are not a very grounded person, you can also contribute in some kind of way to your own problems and so I might have contributed

Dencia Reveals She’s Not At War With Tonto Dikeh

dencia
What do you get when the two most controversial female celebrities in the continent clash?
In a recent interview with Punch, Dencia has revealed that she has no issue with Tonto Dikeh, and doesn’t know where the rumors came from.
Dencia said: –
“I don’t have issues with Tonto Dikeh, I just don’t like it when someone feels because she is bigger than another person, she can trample down on them. Pearl is my protégé and my sister and I felt that she was being cheated, so I spoke on her behalf. I hate it when someone who feels she is big in the society cheats another person who seems smaller in class.”
on source of her wealth, Dencia said: –
“I made most of my money from the sale of my beauty cream, Whitenicious. I make a lot of money from that and it has been able to sustain me. I don’t do drugs even though I have friends who indulge in it. I neither drink nor smoke too”
On her beauty cream being discredited by Oscar award winner: –
Lupita Nyong, Dencia replied saying “I don’t have issues with Lupita. I never knew who she was until she spoke about me. There were a lot of politics in the background that a lot of people would not understand and I don’t want to go into it. But it is wrong to talk badly about somebody’s brand. If it happens, it means that there is somebody in the background paying you to do so.”
“That is how it happens in LA and everywhere around the world. When I woke up that morning and read what she said, I was shocked because I did not know who she was. I asked my sister to find out who she was and my sister searched for her on Google. That was when I knew who she was. When I realised who she was, I leveraged on what she said and used her for publicity instead. Few days after, she discredited my brand when she had an endorsement with a skincare company. How would you discredit me and the next day you are endorsed by a company that sells a similar product like I do? It is not rocket science”
