Veteran Nollywood Star, Ernest Azuzu Seen Begging For Money At Shoprite

He was famous for his roles as a bad-boy type or criminal, the veteran Nollywood actor, Ernest Azuzu has reportedly hit rock bottom.

The movie star was reportedly seen on Sunday, May 25, 2015, at Shop Rite in Surulere.

According to the report, Ernest Azuzu who was once one of the biggest actors in Nigeria, was seen begging for money.

It was also said that he was wearing a pair of bathroom slippers, Manchester United jersey, and blue jeans.

According to Daily Independent, Azuzu suffered from stroke not too long ago. “I was in LASUTH for two months, three days and for that long, nobody from Nollywood, not even Ibinabo Fiberesima, visited me. And she heard that I was admitted there. My friends told her that I was down with stroke and she pretended as if she didn’t hear. It’s not fair. I’m a human being too” he said.

“I am limping right now, because I have stroke. I am limping because my people don’t care. I’m limping because the industry is already messed up. I don’t know what Ibinabo is doing. Ibinabo is just gallivanting. She is having fun and that is not the reason we put her there. She should go out there and fight for our people” he further said.

It would seem like Tonto Dikeh has decided to leave the spinster life behind her.

The veteran Nollywood actress and singer, Tonto Dikeh might be prepping to wed her ‘Mr.X’ boyfriend, who we discovered to be Churchill Oladunni.

Earlier this week, the actress was on weekly podcast- My Africa podcast, on the show, the host, Andre Blaze noticed the singer was putting on an engagement ring.

Andre asked her if she’s engaged, the singer looked at her ring finger and laughed.

She was trying to avoid answering the question. After much pressuring, she answered.

Tonto told Andre that “You have a very good eye!”.

She also said “Yes I will be getting married.”

She also revealed the wedding will be taking place soon. “I can tell you now that the wedding will take place anytime soon” she added.

Veteran Yoruba movie star, Foluke Daramola has stated that the famous Alaba market must be shutdown because they are just living on other people’s sweat.

Foluke told Encomium that ” Yes, it should be shut down, should even be razed down because these people are just living on other people’s sweat.  For instance, look at me now, I have spent millions of naira on the movie and I am afraid of releasing it.  And if care is not taken, if I leave it for too long, some idiots will just pirate it.  And nothing will be done about it.  So, Alaba should be shut down.  

“I believe in the incoming government in helping us to fight piracy but if the government is also not doing something right, I won’t be an obedient child at all.  We all want change but we know it’s not an overnight thing.  But if we exercise patience and we don’t get what we want, it won’t be business as usual.”

It’s no longer news that Ghollywood stars, Yvonne Nelson and John Dumelo are at war with each other, even thought they used to be best of friends.

Yvonne Nelson has spoken on the issue on Y 107.9 FM while she was on the radio show to promote her upcoming movie ‘If Tomorrow Never Comes’ with Bismark the Joke, Kwaku Elliot and Khareema Aguiar.

Why My First Marriage Failed – Mercy Aigbe Reveals

Famous Yoruba actress, Mercy Aigbe-Gentry, has revealed why her first marriage did not work in an interview with the Sunday edition of The Punch.

According to her the marriage did not work because she was young, naive and most importantly she had issues with her mother-in-law.

Mercy Aigbe said that her mother-in-law did not want her son to marry from another tribe. “I had a bad experience the first time, so I had some reservations and I just wanted to face my career, even though I loved him. Onyeka Onwenu And Patience Ozokwor At War Over Money

Veteran female celebrities in Nigeria, Onyeka Onwenu and Patience Ozokwor are currently on a war path following the battle over the Jonathan Goodluck’s presidential campaign funds for artists.

Sources say that the veteran actresses are not on speaking terms since the women tried outwitting themselves in getting the better part of the outgoing president’s heart.

According to a report in This Day, Onwenu, an established singer, broadcaster, actor and Director General, National Women Centre had made it her business to ensure that majority of creative practitioners and supporters channel their request to see Jonathan and/or participate in his campaign through her but Ozokwor would not wait for her to call the shots.

Ozokwor, who was also honored with MFR by the president, had found a way of getting into the Villa and meeting with the president without the assistance of Onwenu’s ministry or person and this was said to have not gone down well with the singer.

While the report further alleged that Onwenu and Ozokwor openly abused themselves and called each other names over the bad blood created, the two are said to have maintained a far distance from each other at events.

Interestingly, the two were spotted at the Africa Magic Igbolaunch in Enugu and both celebrities gave a performance to thrill the guests at the launch.

On today’s post I want to share the challenge I face as a parent on a daily basis as it concerns digital media/new technology/television.

Growing up we didn’t all have access to it or only had ‘restricted’ access. In my case when school started we weren’t allowed to watch TV so we could concentrate. Yeah, my folks were hard-core like that. We didn’t have much choice in terms of what to watch, it was either “Voltron”, “Sesame Street” or “She-Ra” on television or music videos on Betamax or VHS cassette. Wow, my age don dey show o!

Nowadays my daughters are spoilt for choice as to what to watch on TV with so many different cartoon channels and YouTube on my phone or iPad. I have nothing against mankind’s advancement in technology considering it has made life a lot easier in many ways and saved lives especially in medicine, etc., but as a new parent it’s something we all need to be mindful of.

My 1st born is already a whiz on my phone and IPad and I usually let her watch her favourite shows like “Sofia the 1st”, “Frozen”, “Peppa-Pig”, etc and I did not worry about it too much because most times I have to help her type what she wants to watch so that way I can monitor what she’s doing. Right? Well, sort of. It turns out that there are so many suggestions that pop up based on previous history that can lure kids to get into some adult stuff with parodies of these shows such as “Barbie life in the Dream House”- let me just say it was borderline P0*n! I was shocked but of course I had to play it cool and just changed it to something more wholesome! Phew!

From then on I always ensure to extra double check what she’s up to. It is not as if she’s deliberately searching for naughty stuff because she’s only 3 years old, but if it’s dangled in front of her like a lollipop, then I can’t blame her for her curiosity but it will not be curiosity killing my little kitty if I can help it! That was my first shocker so I brought my husband’s attention together we became more vigilant.

Another issue is with music videos and shows. As we all know, we live in a highly sexualized world where s*x sells just about everything and I find myself worrying about the impact that has on the children we are raising today. In my household we are huge lovers of music of all genres, be it our very own Naija pop, hip-hop, or R&B. And one of my favourite things to do is to dance with my daughters. In the past, I would leave the TV on and watch TraceTV or SoundCity and let it keep showing, now I have to be extra vigilant with all the indecency and shaking of bum-bums. This is coupled with the fact that I have two baby girls and I can’t particularly say I’m happy with the way certain women allow themselves to be portrayed. However that is an entirely different topic for another day.

But back to the matter at hand, I find I have to reduce watching those shows or leave it to when they’re asleep or play the audio version only, or just switch to another channel entirely. When the video that comes up is too risqué and that always causes troubles with my feisty 3 year old.

We really have to contend with a lot these days and I want to encourage us as Mums to be more vigilant with our kids so they don’t grow up too fast and start dealing with things they don’t understand.

According to the actress, Stephanie merely survived some compression to the chest and neck contusions after hitting her head on the tarred road as a result of the crash.

Stephanie and her friends were involved in the crash on Wednesday, May 6, 2015 in Ivory Coast on her way back home.

The Fortunes star took to her Facebook account to thank God for her daughter’s life while encouraging friends and fans alike to do same on her behalf.

Narrating her experience, the Full Moon actress wrote, “Thank You God!! The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases, his mercies never come to an end, they are new every morning, new every morning, Great is thy name oh Lord.”

Continuing, she wrote, ‘My daughter Stephanie was involved in a ghastly car accident in Ivory Coast where she was interning in her fathers company and catching a vacation. On the way back home with friends driving, Stephanie was in the back seat , thankfully with her seat belt on.

‘The car took a full side impact from a truck in an intersection. Side and back of vehicle crushed but Stephy manages to climb out but falls onto the tar and hits her head. Spent two days in ICU and recovery and was discharged home with a clean bill.

‘Good news is she and her friends all made it out but Stephy suffered some compression to the chest and neck contusions. This happened on Wednesday night and I am just now knowing about it . I’m too weak with relieve to be mad, and i’m just blessing God. Rejoice with me,’ she narrated.
