Fathia Balogun, Odunlade Adekola Win Big At YMAA
 The 2013 edition of the Yoruba Movies Academy Awards (YMAA), which held on Sunday, March 30 climaxed with the announcement of Fathia Balogun and Odunlade Adekola as the Best Actress in a lead role and Best Actor in a lead role respectively.

Thunderous shouts rented the air when the two actors were revealed as the respective winners of their categories.

Dele Odule and Joke Muyiwa emerged as Best Actor and Actress in supporting roles respectively, Hafiz Oyetoro as the Best Comedy Actor, Tunde Owokoniran and Memunat Yinusa as the Most Promising Actor and Actress respectively, Pasuma as Best Musician in an Acting Role, Olasco Films as Best Marketer, while Niji Akanji Achievement in Directing.

The movie's brutal violence and sexuality — Enos, especially, seems consigned to a special hell for wayward harlots — make Grand Theft Auto feel positively smurfy, and the Why Arnold Cries at Night backstory fits a little too neatly. Still, his banter with the game Williams, as a homicide detective, has moments of real chemistry, and there a few (not many, but a few) genuinely great lines. You won't respect yourself in the morning, but you might have some dumb, lizard-brain fun. C+

the executive producer of the awards, Tunde Laface, said, 'our technical partner, Zmirage is on ground to set up the stage to make the event glamorous.

'Captain America' is ready to retire

 

The Marvel star, who leads the studio's "Captain America" movies and plays the patriotic superhero in the "Avengers" franchise, tells Variety magazine that he's looking forward to quitting acting altogether.

“I’ve known for a while I wanted to direct,” Evans says. “But (time) never really opens up. There’s another movie to do, there’s another acting job."
In order to make room for his behind-the-camera passion, Evans says that he won't be on screen at all unless he's contractually obligated to by Marvel.
"If I'm acting at all, it's going to be under a Marvel contract," Evans admits. "Or I'm going to be directing. I can't see myself pursuing acting strictly outside of what I'm contractually obligated to do."
For the time being, though, we still have Evans as our heroic Captain America, who'll next appear at the cineplex on April 4 in "Captain America: The Winter Soldier." Perhaps influencing Evans' eagerness to move on to other ventures are the pressures he feels to master the role.
"It’s daunting at times, you know that people are expecting not just a good movie, but a good representation of who you are as a man," he said. "Playing a character is one thing, but being a person is another, and you can love a movie as much as you like, but if you don’t respect the human outside of the film, it’s a disappointment. So you try your best to live up to the expectation."
Off-screen, the 32-year-old acknowledges that he does fail to live up to everyone's expectations in one arena: his size.
“I cannot tell you how many times, you know on a daily basis, you might meet someone who says something, they're like 'Great to meet you,'" Evans recalled at a recent "Captain America: The Winter Soldier" premiere. "(And then they say),'You are a lot smaller than I thought you'd be.' I mean, I'm a constant disappointment."

Box office update: 'Noah' floats with $15.2 million on Friday

 Darren Aronofsky’s diluvian epic Noah attracted something between a trickle and a flood of moviegoers on Friday, earning the film $15.2 million in its first day of release. While Noah is an adaptation of the original disaster story, in which God plays Roland Emmerich and destroys pretty much everything in sight, the number puts Noah‘s draw closer to that of historical epics like star Russell Crowe’s Robin Hood than any of Emmerich’s big-budget catastrophe porn. It’s unclear whether the film managed to get Christian audiences (who made last week’s God’s Not Dead a sleeper hit) marching two-by-two into the cinemaplex or if news that Aronofsky was playing fast and loose with Old Testament mythology had kept them at bay

Yemi Solade Impregnated 18 Years Old Girl And Denied The Pregnancy

 

According to Global Excellence Yemi Solade has a love child of 10 years old.

“The mother of the daughter, Seun Olowolusi Obafemi, we reliably gathered engaged in a romance with this popular actor at a movie location 10 years ago when she was 18 years old. When she realized that she was pregnant for the handsome actor, our source said she abandoned home to another destination for fear of her parents getting to know about the pregnancy at the initial stage. Our finding revealed that she returned home to her parents when the pregnancy reached an advanced stage. As we learnt, she had complications during delivery that she had to be operated upon before the baby came into life.

Investigation revealed that it was after she delivered the baby that she told her parents that the actor, Yemi Solade  was responsible for her pregnancy. Seun’s parents eventually located the actor, Yemi Solade whom we learnt didn’t deny the pregnancy. According to them, he promised to take up the responsibility of the child but till now Yemi has neglected the child who is now in primary 5 at a school at Ire- Akari Estate in Lagos.

They learnt that it was after this that the actor impregnated another lady and they are happily married now. It will be recalled that this is not the first time Yemi Solade would be involved in romance scandal. Few years back, a London based woman alleged that the actor planned to defraud her on the internet. According to the woman, she stated that she became Yemi Solade’s friend on facebook and before you could say jack, the actor had shown intentions to date her but she let him understand that she is married.

All efforts to speak to Yemi Solade on this love child issue were futile as his number could not be reached.”

Fox sets 'Wolverine,' 'Fantastic Four' release dates

 

 - It's never too early to make movie plans. Especially when you're a studio with a billion-dollar franchise at stake.

Twentieth Century Fox, which has only recently cast its new "Fantastic Four" and has another "X-Men" movie out this summer, has announced release dates for "Fantastic Four II," the next "Wolverine" standalone — and a mystery third Marvel film.

The rebooted "Fantastic Four," with Michael B. Jordan, Kate Mara, Jamie Bell, and Miles Teller reportedly aboard, is scheduled for June 19, 2015, but Fox has already penciled in a sequel for July 14, 2017.

Meanwhile, Hugh Jackman's "Wolverine," who stars in this May's "X-Men: Days of Future Past," will return in another standalone movie, targeted for March 3, 2017. His last solo effort, 2013′s "The Wolverine," grossed $414.8 million globally.

'Fantastic Four' casting: Fox zeroes in on its final 4

That film's director, James Mangold, is attached to the next sequel as well. (Another "X-Men" all-star movie, "X-Men: Apocalypse," will open May 27, 2016.)

Fox will deliver another Marvel film on July 13, 2018, but the studio hasn't yet announced which superhero will be suiting up. Since Fox owns only "X-Men" and "Fantastic Four," there's speculation that the film could be either a crossover or another standalone for a main character from one of those franchises.

In other Fox release-date news, Matthew Vaughn's "The Secret Service" has been bumped up from March 6, 2015 to October 24 of this year, swapping dates with an untitled Vince Vaughn movie.

'X-Men: Apocalypse': Bryan Singer teases new film 'will address mutant origins'

Daniel Radcliffe's "Frankenstein" is moving from January 16, 2015, to October 2, 2015. Liam Neeson's "Taken 3" will open January 9, 2016 -- right in the heart of Neeson Season! Fox is also counting on a still-unspecified Ridley Scott movie for a March 4, 2016 release date.

Studios like to stake out prime release-date real estate years in advance for their biggest blockbusters, to best protect their properties and theoretically maximize the industry's box-office by preventing costly head-to-head showdowns. It doesn't always work: "Captain America 3" is currently on a collision course with "Batman Vs. Superman" on May 6, 2016.

How Biblically Accurate Is Noah?

 Noah, which opens Friday. As with any work of art based on the Bible, the studio was concerned that religious viewers would question its faithfulness to its source. But Aronofsky has been clear that he intends for the film to appeal to believers of all faiths as well as nonbelievers. He told the Reporter that he wanted to create “this fantastical world à la Middle-earth that they wouldn’t expect from their grandmother’s Bible school.” After all, the movie is a little more than two hours and the story in the Bible is all of four chapters, the majority of which dwells on the construction of the ark and the duration of the rain.
